In Uganda, a nation known as the “Pearl of Africa” for its natural beauty, exists a reality that hinders progress and creates cycles of poverty. The average Ugandan receives only five to six years of education, primarily due to the lack of affordability. Without an education, cycles of poverty persist, young girls face the prospect of early marriage, countless young lives are confined to limited opportunities, and Uganda’s progress as a nation stalls.
A Beacon of Hope - Liberty School
Amidst these challenges, Pastor John and Grace Walusimbi are working to bring freedom from this cycle. Their vision has manifested in the Liberty School, located in a small village just outside of Masaka, Uganda.
A Christian Boarding School with The Light of Jesus Guiding the Way
Liberty School stands as a Christian boarding school, dedicated to nurturing young minds from grades 1 to 7. It is a haven for students who, under different circumstances, might never have the opportunity to afford an education. What truly sets Liberty apart is the light of Jesus that radiates through every aspect of the school. With the gospel woven into every aspect of the curriculum, students grow not only in knowledge but also in their faith.
Empowering a School of Bold and Confident Leaders
Liberty is not just a school; it's a breeding ground for student leaders, bold and confident in their faith, taking charge of their future. Students are taught practical skills, such as raising animals and learning farming techniques, equipping them for a self-sustainable and successful future. At Liberty, student leaders are nurtured and encouraged to boldly embrace their faith. They actively take leadership roles in worship, prayer, animal husbandry projects, and various aspects of the school's administration.
Thanks to the Liberty School, dreams are no longer distant; they are within reach, and the future is bright with possibility.
Pastor John passionately believes, "An education without Jesus only creates clever devils." Liberty School understands that education, when combined with faith, becomes a powerful force that uplifts, inspires, and guides these young hearts.

Educating With Hope has partnered with Liberty Preparatory School to help them provide a Christ-centered education to the children of Kyabakuza, Masaka, Uganda. Educating With Hope helps Liberty Preparatory School in the following ways:
Liberty currently serves around 140 students, but there are many many more students in the local area who still cannot afford to go to school. Your financial support helps the students who are currently at Liberty and allows them to expand their outreach to enroll more students.
It costs around $26 a month to cover the cost of 1 student to attend Liberty. This helps cover room and board, food, tuition, teacher's salary, uniforms, and other needed supplies. So every dollar you give makes a BIG impact.
John and Grace Walusimbi who run Liberty School ALWAYS welcome volunteers and ministry partners to visit Masaka, Uganda. All types of skill sets and interests can be put to great use at Liberty School. This could include leading VBS programs, completing construction/improvement projects, providing educational seminars to Liberty teachers, and outreach/evangelism to the surrounding villages and communities.
Trips to Liberty School in Uganda can be scheduled throughout the year, but most recent trips have been planned for June and July of each year. If you are interested in a trip to Liberty School contact tyler@educatingwithhope.com
